In this space, we aim to share the ways we enjoy astronomy and the art of astronomical imaging, better known as “astrophotography”. We are physically based in La Serena, the capital city of the Coquimbo region on Chile’s coast. The north of Chile is famous for hosting an impressive set of professional observatories thanks to the outstanding weather conditions present most of the year.
”Cluster One Observatory” is a traveling observatory that initially got started during the COVID lockdown in our backyard, under highly contaminated conditions by the city lights. Soon after the lockdown, we started going to darker sites in order to acquire data under better sky conditions. For long term observing projects which demands extended hours on sky, we use a small optical setup at the Atacama Pathfinder EXperiment - APEX control base located in San Pedro de Atacama.
“Cluster One Observatory” goes beyond astrophotography since, in one way or another, it has become our starting point towards art, music and basically everything that involves admiring and enjoying what is good in life. Short and sweet.
