Description

The little red dress with single shoulder strap and Gecko for a brooch, what an amazing field with the Rokinon 135 mm.  I cropped the final image, but would be curious if people like the wider FOV to provided context?

Over the past year and change about 50% of the time when I shot multiple nights with narrow band filters, I would get an awful checkerboard pattern background. I double checked calibration frames and these were not the cause. I ultimately figured out it was DSS and night to night grouping with different background values. This recently became  a major issues as I had it on my RGB for the hidden galaxy IC 342. I decided to switch back to PI. I historically did not care for WBPP due time of integration; however, I tried the same image on Fast BPP. Just like that checkerboard was gone! Simply Amazing!!!!

I captured the data for this image 13 months ago, but never could use it because of the pattern. I spent 8 hours over 2 nights on the Ha Layer. Because of this time spent, I likely put too much emphasis on the Ha aspect of the image.

Sh2-126 is a towering sheet of Hii emission nebula in Lacerta illuminated by the blue main sequence star 10 Lacerae. This star forming area in Lacerta is located 1,200 light years from earth in closer proximity then the Gecko that shines through the broad emission.

LBN 437: The Gecko nebula itself is a reflection nebula in the top right similar to the witch head nebula in Orion. Located in the constellation of Lacerta, the nebula is approximately 2000 light years from earth and measures 45 light years across.

LBN 438: in the bottom left which may or may not be an ERE (Extended Red Emission) object similar to the head of the Gecko. Per @Gary Imm ERE is a broad emission in the red band, peaking from 600 to 800 nm, detected in some interstellar objects such as planetary nebulae, reflection nebulae, HII regions, and galactic dark nebulae at high latitudes.

LBN 440 in the bottom left also provides another interesting interplay of Hii region vs ERE and non emission dense dust.

LBN 454 in the top left and LBN 448 are also interesting structure of dust and emission nebula in the fild.
